Lewis SPONSLER

Lewis was of French Huguenot ancestry. Revolutionary War Services: "A commission was issued to Lewis Ponsler by the Supreme Executive Council of Pennsylvania, dated May 12, 1777, signed by Thomas Wharton Jr., President and T.G. Matback, Secretary, appointing him as First Lieutenant. He served in the capacity of First Lieutenant, 5th Battalion, Philadelphia Militia, 1777.
